The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got lot of information what we should see in Istanbul and how to find all sights. The location was perfect, all the sights in walking distance. Beatiful view from the breakfast room. Our flight was late and we couldn't inform hotel about this but the hotel driver was still waiting for us at the airport. Very good value for money, We will choose this hotel next time we visit in Istanbul. I can warmly recommend this hotel!

The location is unbeatable for exploring Istanbul, just a short stroll to the iconic Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Breakfast on the terrace offers a divine view of the Sea of Marmara, and the warm hospitality from Selman.
Noisy nights.

Artefes staff were excellent and very helpful. The location was good for visiting the sites in Sultanahmet & easy walk to all the sites. The neighborhood was pleasant and a few restaurants were very near the hotel.

Even though there was a problem when I arrived (not the hotel's fault), they worked extremely hard to make up for it - they even upgraded my room to the gorgeous suite overlooking the sea! They were warm and helpful and also organised for me to attend a very nice hammam. All in all, they made my stay very comfortable and pleasant. Also the hotel's location is unbeatable - a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque.

First room felt dated with noticeable signs of wear. Thin windows let in street noise, and the bathroom showed some signs of neglect with hair in the corners.

The personnel is friendly and helpful and the location is almost perfect. Close to all the landmarks, but on a quiet street so no problem with getting a good nights sleep. Breakfast on the roof terrace is a great way to start the day.
Our room on the third floor wasn't exactly fresh and in a great shape. The hardwood floor is a bit creaky and wi-fi only works on one side of the bed.

The staff and the rooftop terrace were amazing. I have to say these were the nicest most helpful staff we have ever encountered.Like many of the Turkish people we have met on this holiday, Murat & Kencan ( excuse spelling) and other staff were so generous with their time, suggestions for guide and attractions, and even free wine for the terrace. 5he terrace has a 360 degree view of old city incl blue mosque, and Marmara Sea. it was easy walk to everything. the hotel appears to be being renovated and putting in a spa. breakfast is a generous hot/cold buffet. The transfers were free (next hotel is charging us 85 E for the 2 transfers.) we returnto Istanbul in few weeks and staying somewhere cheaper. 'Murat invited us back for a free drink on the terrace anyway. that,s service.
bedrooms, whilst a reasonable size ,need a little oomph in decorating, perhaps some colour. The hotel exterior is attractive and well maintained but some of the neighborhood needs renovation.

Location of the hotel attracts me. Hotel is small, but neat and clean. Breakfast is fantastic. I intend to stay here again.
Desk manager, who is a Turkish with small beard, is not professional. He gave a very cool look as if he were an intelligence officer! He argued much while giving back security money (10 tl) against electric socket. He should undergo training on etiquette and manners.
